Doctors face a significant dilemma regarding the issue of euthanasia, as evidenced by available research data. This results in them being confronted with the values they have as people and with the role they play because the position of some of them may be more responsible and at the same time they have to manage many issues, such as ensuring that the legality of nursing processes is respected, the representative of the patient, the professional and the individual. The differences between doctors' perceptions do not only arise from their personal beliefs but also from other factors such as national legislation.

Key words: Assisted suicide, European Association for Palliative Care, Legislation.
