Web 2.0 has changed the ways by which users exchange information. It provides easy-to-use and affordable digital tools that can facilitate real-time communication and interactive collaboration between healthcare professionals (HPs). Web 2.0 tools can facilitate the clinical, administrative, research and training work of nurses, physicians and other HPs, while reducing delay and omissions due to bureaucracy. The purpose of this article is to emphasize the usefulness of web 2.0 tools through implementation scenarios in daily nursing practice. Google and Microsoft software, with popular applications for computers and smart devices, such as Zoom, Viber, Dropbox, TeamViewer and Social Media apps, are utilized in these scenarios. The international literature corroborates the viewpoint that these tools promote distance communication, facilitate arrangement of documents and sharing of patient information between HPs, and enhance interdisciplinary team collaboration. They can be used to create virtual communities and promote collaborative learning through the exchange of ideas and opinions. Assumption of leadership roles by HPs with familiarity in the use of web 2.0 tools, lifelong training of HPs, and the availability of appropriate infrastructures for the integration of these tools in daily practice, are all key points for the successful adoption of collaborative culture via the Internet.

Key words: Collaborative tools, Google tools, Nursing, Social media, Web 2.0 technologies.
