Small doses of atypical antipsychotics as an adjunctive treatment of depression are efficacious in reducing depressive symptoms with small-to-moderate sized benefits, as shown by evidence-based meta-analyses of numerous studies. Ηowever, atypical antipsychotics should be administered with caution because of their adverse side effects.
